Who has started something and left it at the middle of its course? I know I have. We all have, but the important thing is to get back up and try again.
Now, when you stop feeding your habit or passion, you tend to lack motivation. I’ve been working really hard to build up my motivation again to create and express myself without fear of judgment. Here are some tips that have helped me:
1. Reevaluate: take a step back and look at the bigger picture and ask yourself some important questions. What has caused a change in my positive habits? What can I change to re-direct my focus. For example, I had to reevaluate my eating and physical habits. I was lacking motivation in self care and I took the initiative to hire a trainer and eat better to boost my confidence. Now, I have implemented a healthy routine that comes easy to me by taking the initiative to switch something I was not happy with (harder than it sounds). The important thing here is to take responsibility of your actions and make them better.
2. Learn: we have an opportunity to learn something new everyday! Whether we do or don’t solely depends on our perspective of things. Whether you pick up a new course or listen to someone’s story use that to entice your curiosity. What you learn can be your next motivational tool to create something exceptional.
3. Help: everyone around us has a project or goal they are working on. If you cannot find the boost to help complete your own, help someone that already has. Not only will you feel great for helping, but seeing that someone can accomplish their goal will help you understand that so can you.
4. Be genuine: this is the most important. Not only with people, but yourself as well. Take your faults and your victories and own them all. This is what makes you different and letting the world know about them will make you stand out.
You are not alone, we all go through some highs and lows, but we can always build our motivation up. Success comes to those that use everything that is thrown at them to build the foundation they walk on. Get to walking, luxies!
